CBC Summer Missions 2018

After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.
— Luke 10:1-3

The CBC staff has arranged all the logistics for an urban summer mission experience! We will be serving in one of the most spiritually challenging cities in the United States: Boston/Cambridge!

Mission teams from all over the country have been coming here for years to serve, pray, witness, and plant churches. We are going to do the same all without leaving the comfort of home! However, there will be one massive change needed for this to work:

Our perspective.

When Christians come to Boston or Cambridge on a short-term mission, they are intending to serve the purposes of God. They are on the lookout for what God is doing and are eager to join him there! That is the perspective we must adopt for our summer mission to be successful. Are you willing to change your perspective rather than your circumstances to be on mission with Jesus this summer?

Our mission "trip" will involve Scripture study, sharing the good news, praying, service projects, and building relationships. You will grow, the Kingdom will advance, and God will be glorified.

Components

We'll be asking people to sign up during church on June 17 and June 24, and on July 1 we "set off" on our adventure. Think about these options and be ready to join us this summer to see what God is doing in our city!

The Quiet Revival is an unprecedented and sustained period of Christian growth in the city of Boston beginning in 1965 and persisting for nearly five decades so far.
